How to beat the boredom: childrens museum, zoo, or more cost effective if you dont have season passes to those places: find some cardboard boxes(the bigger the better) turn them into forts, paint them and turn them into cars, trains, building; get out some paint, more cardboard boxes or big pieces of poster board and let the kids paint w/ their feet...best if done either outside or in a room w/ a NON carpeted floor!! and maybe another adult if you arent sure you can handle the clean up alone!! but I've managed it before...tons of other stuff too...make playdough, edible is best!! most of all ENJOY the time!! indoor picnics are always a blast w/ my kids too, esp. if you "invite" their stuffed animals!
